Royal Palace

The Royal Palace of Bucharest is a monumental building situated in Bucharest's city center, on Calea Victoriei street. The Palace in its various incarnations served as official residence for the kings of Romania.The new Royal Palace, as it stands today, was erected in 1936–1937 under the direct supervision of Queen Maria and her son, King Carol II. Since 1950 the Palace hosts the National Museum of Art of Romania.

Herăstrău Park and Lake

Herastrau Park is the largest park in Bucharest with an area of about 1.1 km², of which 0.7 km² is the lake in the center of the park. The park was opened in 1936 and is divided into two zones: a rustic or natural zone (The Village Museum), which is left more or less undisturbed, and a public domain with open areas for recreation activities. It includes among its attractions a summer theater, exhibition halls, sport clubs, cafes, clubs and restaurants. Herastrau Park has designated areas for recreation and culture, as well as for sports and entertainment and is the place where you can practice almost any kind of sport. Small boats are allowed on the lake.


Village Museum (Dimitrie Gusti)

The Village Museum is an open-air ethnographic museum located in Herastrau Park , showcasing traditional Romanian village life. The museum extends to over 100,000 m2, and contains 272 authentic peasant farms and houses from all over Romania. Schedule: Monday: 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM Tuesday - Sunday: 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM

Aviation Museum

On 2nd March 1990, by a decision of the Romanian Government, was established Aviation Museum - prestigious cultural institution, reference structure of the Air Force, an important point of interest for the public. Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The Arch of Triumph

The Arch of Trimph is a monument located in the northern part of Bucharest, 1st district. The monument, designed by Petre Antonescu, was built between 1921-1922 and renovated in 1935-1936. It commemorates the victory of Romania in World War. The Arch of Triumph is 27 m high, with a single opening and rectangular shape. The models were made by plastic artists and for carving marble Ruschita, in addition to local sculptors, has resorted to a number of ten sculptors from Italy.

Bucharest Zoo

Bucharest Zoo was founded in 1955, not in its present form but a small zoo corner. By 1959, livestock were concentrated in the upper progressive zoo corner Baneasa, which later became Bucureşti Zoo. Bucharest Zoo covers an area of ​​5.85ha and has about 150 species and subspecies, belonging both exotic wildlife as well as local wildlife.
